November Coalition Meeting

  • Adams Economic Alliance 1300 Proline Place Gettysburg, PA, 17325 United States (map)

@Home’s final meeting of 2025!

As we reflect on how to live well in Adams County, the theme for this month is transportation (walking, biking, hiking) for fun, health, work, and errands!

Please join us in welcoming Silas Chamberlin, PhD, Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President, Economic & Community Development at the York County Economic Alliance. Silas previously served as CEO of Downtown Inc, executive director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area, and in regional leadership roles with DCNR and the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. His book, On the Trail: A History of American Hiking was published by Yale University Press in 2016, and his research has been published by Landscape Architecture Magazine and other national publications. Silas holds a PhD in environmental history from Lehigh University. Chamberlin is a past member of the Pennsylvania Trails Advisory Committee, and has an established career in trail development, conservation, and economic development. His professional roles include director of Stewardship with the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, executive director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area, and most recently CEO of Downtown Inc. He has served on the York County Rail Trail Authority since 2019.

You will also hear updates about a local organization championing cycling and pedestrian interests - HABPI! Healthy Adams Bicycle/Pedestrian, Inc. (HABPI) is a non-profit group of volunteers working to develop safe, accessible walking and bicycling trails and paths in Adams County. We believe that walking and bicycling are a wonderful way to exercise, commute to work, and run errands while also enjoying the beautiful area in which we live. Congrats on their 10-year anniversary in early October!
